Mutiara Express is the means of public transport which can be used for a distance travel such as from Setiu to Kedah and from Setiu to Kuala Lumpur. The express bus terminal is located in Permaisuri town center and provides a ticket counter for customers. Customers can choose either to travel in the morning or at night.

This transport is the main choice of the local people as it is much cheaper compared to taxi service. The local bus starts it’s operation early in the morning until 7.00 pm. It provides transport for destinations such as from Setiu to Jerteh and from Setiu to Kuala Terengganu. The local bus is available once in every one hour from Setiu to Kuala Terengganu and once in every two hours from Setiu to Jerteh. In order to go to Bandar Permaisuri, where Setiu District Council Building is located, visitors can either use taxi and bus services or their own transport. If visitors use the taxi or bus services from Kuala Terengganu, they need to follow Bandar Permaisuri direction which is well-known by taxi or bus drivers.
